Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist

I am a highly specialist Speech and Language Therapist offering individualised speech and language therapy and assessment to adults with a range of identified difficulties. I have developed my specialisms by working in a variety of clinical settings including adult learning disability, behavioural specialist services, acute hospital settings, inpatient mental health settings and adult community therapy services, within the NHS, Council and private sectors. Within the NHS, I specialise in working with adults for voice, swallowing and communication disorders clinically and strategically lead on swallowing disorders in a wide range of settings (including paediatric, adult community, adult learning disability and inpatient mental health).

I have previously worked within the performing arts sector providing vocal coaching and acting classes, with a particular interest in supporting good vocal hygiene, vocal projection and vocal protection. As part of this I have qualifications at Grade 8 standard in singing and acting. I offer a combination of vocal coaching alongside clinical techniques used in Speech and Language Therapy to provide a unique and engaging form of therapy.

I have a PhD and an active research portfolio, with a focus in palliative care in young people, social media and ethical based research. And as part of this I deliver lectures and conference presentations of which I am very passionate about sharing knowledge and experience and also learning from others.
