I am a trained teacher of performing arts and have worked with young people for nearly 20 years. I have had the pleasure of working in a number of secondary schools across Merseyside as a Performing Arts teacher, Head of Department, Head of Sixth Form and Assistant Headteacher. Alongside teaching I have always been involved in music, especially singing – it’s intrinsic to my life!
I have worked extensively for the NHS as a ward singer in hospital as well as delivering singing workshops alongside a speech therapist (Krystina) working with dementia patients at care homes across the city. The joy singing brings to the participants lives is unimaginable. Alongside ‘Singing and Communication Therapy’ I have other interests. In 2017, I extended my role at TFL Education and founded ‘Be Scene’ Performing Arts Academy. It is through ‘Be Scene’ I provides accessible performing arts provision for young people. I am also a trained Arts Award adviser and provide singing lessons for pupils preparing them singing exams or live performances.
In my spare time, I perform in a piano vocal duo act ‘Songbird and the Pianoman’
