I am an Advanced Practitioner, Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist and have 14 years’ experience working with children and young adults with a wide range of communication and feeding / swallowing difficulties including delayed / disordered language, developmental delay, ASD (Autistic Spectrum Disorder), Down’s syndrome, learning difficulties, speech sounds. I can support children with alternative and augmentative communication systems e.g. communication aids, signs, symbols, PECS (picture exchange communication system), LAMP (Language Acquisition through Motor Planning).
I completed a Masters in Advanced Practice in 2015 and won the Pat Swain Prize for my Advanced Practice Project. Subsequent to this I presented at the 2016 ‘ENT in times of Austerity: The role of the Advanced Practitioner’ Conference.
I have completed training in Dysphagia, LAMP, PECS, Makaton, Hanen – It Takes two to Talk, More than Words and Learning Language and Loving it, Cervical Auscultation, Alternative and Augmentative Communication Units, Paediatric Tracheostomy for the Speech and Language Therapist.
I have a passion for training and have ran courses for small groups to 100 attendees.
